Adele isn't "going on a break for that long," she tells the French radio network NRJ. Contrary to previous reports about an extended hiatus, the singer said she expects to have a "new song probably coming out at the end of the year."
Adele Returns to Singing at Grammys
Don't expect a full album soon from the wildly successful singer, however. "I have to write another record, you know," she said. "If I didn't write my own songs, I'd be out next week with a new album. But because I write my own songs, I have to take time and live a little bit. There was a good two years between my first and second albums, so it'll be the same this time."
What's Adele's Next Move After Storming the Grammys?
Adele added that she will not be intimidated by the phenomenal success of "21," which earned the singer six Grammy Awards and has sold over two million copies in the U.S. since its release. "I don't think I'll ever feel the pressure for my next record to be as big as the last one, because I know that's just not really possible," she explained. "What's happened with this one is very rare, anyway."
