Life & Mommyhood: Product Review: Yurbuds Inspire Pro

I've combined my love of gear/gadgets with my love of running, and I've been on the hunt for anything and everything that makes running more enjoyable for me. ?I'm one of those people that always needs music. ?I always have earbuds on at work, and when I need to focus on something, you can be sure to find me with either buds or over the ear headphones on. ?And since there are still times where I'm dragging ass to go for a run, I definitely need music to run to. ?That's just who I am, sorry you running purists that can go without tunes. ?The sound of my feet hitting the pavement just can't compare to hearing Salt N Pepa tell you to Push It through that hill or the last mile.

Over the past 5 months, I've become obsessed with buds. ?My fave pair (JLabs) just weren't doing it for me during runs, as the only complaint I have about those buds is that you can hear every single sound through the cable. ?Every tap, every step, every thud, would carry through the cables into my ears. ?Not to mention they'd fall out every few steps. ?I'd like to be able to focus on my run and not fidget with buds that would constantly pop out.

I Googled and Amazon'ed up the wazoo, and that's where I first came across Yurbuds. ?They're sport headphones, created by athletes, for athletes. ?These things were claiming that they would stay in your ear, guaranteed, thanks to their "twist lock" technology. ?To be honest, it sounded like an ad for food storage containers. ?But after a lot of back and forth, I finally bit the bullet and bought the Inspire Pro (with mic). ?I wanted the mic mainly for the remote control function, figuring it would make a huge difference in convenience when out for a run. ?The reason behind going back and forth, is that these things run about $50. ?I didn't want to spend that much for a set that I would only be using when I ran. ?But after trying out different ones that were cheaper, I gave in. ?And I love it.

I bought these mainly for the Nike Women's Marathon. ?I wanted something that would stay in, be comfortable, and had decent sound quality. ?These totally fit the bill. ?It did take a while to get the hang of inserting them, but you really do twist them into the locked position in your ear, and off you go. ?The remote works just like the standard iPhone buds, and the sound quality is decent. ?The bass is lacking and sometimes depth of sound isn't that great, but they're perfect for running. ?NWM was windy at some points and I never experienced wind sound through the buds. ? There's different colors available, and a new line just for women (smaller ear caps). ?If you're a runner who loves your tunes, I definitely recommend these.
